Boba Fett Jetpack To attach the side tanks to the jetpack body, use L brackets. These are commonly found at hardware stores. Cut a large, rectangular hole in the back of the jetpack body where the sidetanks will go and then glue the brackets on the inside. For added stability, use Epoxy Putty to strengthen the seam on the inside.

After attaching the side tanks, you'll need to fill the gaps on the front with putty. Start with a good quality putty like Testor's red or Bondo Automotive Gap Filler. Both putties are actually the same formula but the Bondo can be found at Wal-Mart and is generally about $3 cheaper. Spread the putty with a popsicle stick, your finger, or whatever. Then, while the putty is still wet, take a Q-Tip soaked in non-acetone fingernail polish remover, and wipe off the excess putty. This really cuts down on the amount of time you'll spend sanding. With a medium grit sandpaper, sand the gaps until they're smooth. If you notice small cracks in the putty, fill them in with Super Glue. Remember, the seams don't have to be perfect. The tanks should look like they're welded onto the body. |
