The area around the “cylinder” of the gun…

These are grey 1½” PVC couplings. The barrel is glued into one of them and the other one has been slotted so it will fit over the base gun. In the example above, a Crossman .357 pellet pistol was used, which is also available at your local Walmart. Go ahead and grind off the front sight as it will interfere with assembly later. To make this area stronger, cut 2 pieces of 1½' PVC pipe to go in the area BETWEEN the two PVC couplings.

The bolt pictured below runs horizontally through the gun and clamps the coupling to the pellet pistol. You will need to remove the cylinder that holds the pellets. Rather than have a bolt head on one side, and a nut on the other, some of these were used to build this rifle.

The scope mount that is closest to the barrel is actually bolted through the PVC barrel, and the REAL pellet pistol barrel inside. When the final assembly is made, slide the extra chrome plumbing tube in the barrel (it will help the PVC barrel sit straighter) and epoxy the 2 pieces of PVC pipe you made to join the couplings together so the barrel will not move around.

The one bolt through the PVC barrel will not be strong enough to keep the barrel from moving. The scope mount closest to the barrel-end is done the same way and it is drilled through the chrome barrel end. Remember to wrap the barrel end with some electrical tape so it will fit better inside the PVC barrel.

Attaching the stock to the gun…

This piece was made from 1/16” flat steel and the shims underneath it as well. A die grinder, a carbide bit and several die grinder blades were used to make this piece the correct shape and you'll probably want to come up with a better idea. The pieces are are bolted on with button-head allen head screws on the left side of the gun and they go through to the other side and have nuts on the right side. The original plastic grip covers the nuts up. The back of the grip will have to be modified to fit on the “shim” underneath it.

You’ll also have to cut out all the gizmos related to the Co2 canister first, because it will be in the way.

Stock

The Stock

The stock was made from a 2”x6” piece of wood that was 11” long and a dual action sander was used to shape it out. A router was used so the metal part would be counter-sunk into the stock but this really isn’t necessary.

The stock details were made out of plywood. The square pieces are almost 2” in diameter, and the rectangular ones are about 2-7/8” long, and 1” tall.

The sling is an old WWII era M-1 Garand rifle sling, bought up at the local Army surplus store for about $9.00. The slling mounts are available at Walmart for about $10.00.

The rifle was painted gray first, and some “liquid mask” was used in areas that would be likely “wear” areas, then it was painted with flat black paint. Once the liquid mask is removed, you can do additional weathering by spraying gray metallic paint from a distance. The gun was then flat clear coated. Wood stain was used on the stock as well as some weathering.
