Imperial Gunner Assembly Tips

In ANH, the Imperial Gunners wore a black Sandtrooper pauldron on their chest. The pauldron still fastens around the neck but it points down instead of off to the side.

Another version of the ANH Imperial Gunner seems to wear a black leather jacket but the screen captures we have only shows them at a distance so we can't make out all the details.

The Gunners in ROTJ wore the chest armor, depending on which scenes you watch. In the scene where the troops are lined up in the hangar bay during the Emperor's arrival, the Gunners didn't wear the armor but they did in the scene where they are preparing to fire on the Alliance ships during the battle of Endor.

The reason for this could be that LucasFilm reused the laser "power up sequence" from ANH in ROTJ.

To keep the pauldron on straight, you can either use a suspender system as shown here, or simply use velcro to keep it in place.
