Jawa Eyes In this diagram, you can see how to wire four AA batteries, a switch and two lights to make the eye circuit. This is a very simply circuit and you can easily do this even if you don't know anything about electronics. The flashlights that were used in the examples were Coleman Graphite lights. These should be readily available wherever fine flashlights are sold. The key here is to purchase flashlights that have reflectors that are smooth (not faceted) and are approximately 1 1/2" in diameter. The battery holder and switch are available at Radio Shack. |

In the Jawa shown here, the wiring diagram was followed exactly except the wires for the switch and battery were made longer so they could be placed in convienent places on the mannequin. The switch was placed on the right arm and the battery was placed on the chest. Knowing how to solder will be a big advantage here because it will be difficult to connect the wires to the bulbs without soldier. For wire to wire connections, you can either soldier or use non-solder connections which are available at Radio Shack. You can also secure the connections by twisting the exposed ends of the wire together and wrapping them with electrical tape. |
