Jawa Tips There is one known variation on the Jawa gloves, meaning you can choose one of two ways to do them. The ANH "hero" versions seemed to have a different kind of glove than the other ANH Jawas and ROTJ Jawas. The ROTJ versions wore simple brown Jersey gardening gloves which can be found at almost any hardware store.

ANH Version As seen here, some Jawas wore black leatherlike gloves with fur on the back of the hand. To make this style glove, buy some black leather gloves. They can be obtained at department stores and thrift stores. You'll also need to locate the fur. Craft stores or fabric stores sometimes carry black synthetic fur you can buy by the yard. Then, all you have to do is glue it to the back of the glove. If you can't find the black fur, you can settle for a black wrap that Jo-Ann's fabric carries. The wrap was laid out over the glove in a U shape and cut. Holes were punched in the glove so the 4 black cable ties would go through and secure the wrap in place. Once the end of the cable tie was cut, the new "fur" hid the ends quite well. The only way you can tell the cable ties are there is by feeling for them. |
