Carpet or box knife - This is used to cut the leather. You will find that a box knife works much better than an Xacto knife.

Heavy duty leather shears - These will be nice to use to cut the curved shapes, especially where the belt comes to a V.

Metal straight-edge or T-square - Use this to make long, straight cuts.

Rotary leather punch - This is used to make the holes in the belt to accomodate the metal dressing pieces. It also is used to punch the holes for the snaps that you use to close the belt.

Snap setter - You will need this to set the large snaps on the ends of the belt. These snaps fasten in the back. You can get them from Tandy Leather, fabric stores and the fabric section of Wal-Mart.

Drill - You will need this to drill holes in the metal pieces to accomodate the eye loops on the back of the buttons.
