Han Solo Vest Tips

The vest Solo wore during ANH was reportedly made from a military BDU jacket. To the left are a few pictures of a vest made in a similar fashion. Note: The brightness has been adjusted on these images so you can see the details on the vest.

Begin by taking up some length from the bottom of the vest. As you can see from the picture above, the vest should end just over the waist line. As a general guideline, the vest should stop at the bottom button before it's removed.

Then, you'll need to remove all of the pockets, the collar, buttons and both sleeves with a seam ripper. Remember to save the extra material so you can make your new pockets.

When making the four front pockets, make them proportional for your body. Meaning, if you have broad shoulders, your pockets may be a little larger than someone with narrow shoulders.
