There isn't much extra to do with the chest and back. Rivets to here permanently attach the shoulder straps to the chest and back. You'll probably need someone to help you with this.

Drill one hole at each end of the two shoulder straps. Place the chest plate and shoulder straps on you. Have your partner draw a dot on the chest plate through the hole in the shoulder strap to tell you where to drill your holes.

Drill your two holes through the chest plate and rivet the straps and chest together. Repeat this process for the back. When you're through riveting, paint the rivets white.

Another option would be to use the white ABS glue included with your kit to glue the straps in place.
